The artist/manufacturer, Heaton, Bulter and Bayne, was a London company, popular among Protestant churches in the U.S.A., such as the Episcopal Church with its more formal and ritualistic worship. This company used pot metal glass and artistic skill so effectively some people preferred it to the American makers. Naturalism of the subjects is combined with scenic backgrounds and softer color effects.
